Fishing Trips
These are usually done on the "Kingfisher" with Alec Hicks, who has many years of experience, having been taking visitors fishing since 1984. Joe Pender, who learnt the tricks of the trade from his father Guthrie, also does some fishing trips on the Sapphire.
There are three types of fishing trip available:
Mackerel/Pollack
The three hour Mackerel/ Pollack trip is ideal for those who just want to try their hand at a "bit of fishing". Through the main season these trips are usually available twice a week in the evenings (usually leaving the quay at 6PM) and sometimes during the day, usually with a 10.15 departure. All rods and equipment are provided and the cost is £16/person.
Reef and Wreck
For the more serious angler, 5-6 hour Reef and Wreck fishing trips are available looking for ling and larger Pollack. Again these take place in the evenings during the main season with a 5PM departure time and occasionally during the day. Again, all equipment is provided and the cost is £30/person.
Shark Fishing
The third fishing trip is shark fishing. Again, these trips are for 5-6 hours with a usual departure time of 5PM and a cost of £30/person.

For the Mackerel/Pollack trips, just watch the "Kingfisher" board on the quay and just turn up. For the other fishing trips it is best to speak to Alec or Joe on the quay or call them on the numbers above.
